Case Study: Head of Corporate Communications
Our client is a substantial industrial business which is a global leader in its sector. The brief was to find a successor to a retiring Head of Corporate Communications – a key appointment close to the CEO of the business.
We were successful in identifying a well qualified candidate for the role who our client was keen to recruit and indeed offered them the position. Unfortunately a set back arose when this individual was offered more significant role with their existing employer and decided not to move. We quickly set about the development of a second shortlist for the appointment. During this period it also became clear that three senior members of the communications team would need to be replaced with a high degree of urgency.
We were able not only to identify a new Head of Communications, but also, in parallel, develop suitable candidates for the three other communications roles within the company, allowing the newly appointed Head to take the final decision on the selection of candidates for these roles. The comprehensive work undertaken by MWM allowed our client not only to appoint in effect four senior people with the skill-sets and competencies required, but also to help them assemble within a short period of time a group of individuals who are working together very effectively as a team.
